Our Idle Neurons Are Desperate for a Role

Our idle neurons are desperate for a role in which they can offer their recognition or calculation skills. So, there is no real reason why we should not go back and train the missing neurons that were somehow missed out. This increases our mental powers and creates balance in our abilities. If we’ve got stuck at 20% of our potential, it is because in our everyday life we hadn’t come across enough of the right challenges to train further some of the brain’s areas. To get rid of the consequential shortcomings, we have to create an environment where the brain can’t escape; it has to focus and do the training.

The Performance Breakthrough Programme (PBP)

The Performance Breakthrough Programme (PBP) specialises in Oriented Focus Situations. The brain is challenged through specific physical exercises, and in order to avoid failure, the brain has to shut out irrelevant signal sources, focus on relevant segments of the environment, and mobilise many fundamental neural areas in an orchestrated way.

With each trial, a myriad of small changes happen in the brain. Fundamental neural circuits and other areas responsible for harmonising their activities will be strengthened. At the outset, some of these neural circuits will perform weakly or can’t collaborate effectively with other circuits in an orchestrated way. The brain will have to train new neurons.

Using an analogy, in musical orchestras, every musician has to play adequately and in harmony with the others to create a pleasing outcome. With the brain, the individual neural circuits play the role of the musicians, and the harmonising set of neurons represents the conductor. The end result is the actions and decisions of our life.

The Impact of PBP Exercises

Each PBP Exercise creates a challenging environment, in which the brain will have to go through many small trial-and-error experiences. The quick and frequent challenges followed by non-threatening instant feedback is an ideal training environment. The brain can:

  • Focus and assess the situation
  • Forecast the outcome
  • Choose and execute activities
  • Check the results almost immediately afterwards

The brain needs feedback to train neurons. Analysing the feedback, the brain can ‘take a look’ at its own actions and judge them in hindsight. What did the circuits and the conductor do when the results were great or when the outcome was disappointing? The feedback seeps down to the individual neurons participating.

It may be a simplified model to explain how neurons and hence the brain learn, but it helps us to understand what happens and why. With the feedback, the training can take place. With positive feedback, the successful team of neurons will ‘pump the air in triumph’ and strengthen their particular settings. With negative feedback, they ‘humbly go back to the drawing board’ and experiment with new settings waiting for the next trial.

Performance Breakthrough Exercises

In everyday life, many things can go wrong when it comes to training fundamental circuits and their conductors. The challenges happen at random intervals in a vastly complex environment, focus is easily lost, and positive and negative feedback can get mixed in an unintelligent way. Most people, of course, do cope to some extent, but then again; we rarely reach more than 20% of our potential.

The exercises selected by PBP were tried and tested through decades with strict guiding principles in mind:

  • The performance of the brain must improve in some small tangible way even after a few minutes.
  • The exercise can’t depend on expensive special equipment.
  • The exercise cannot be intrusive or harmful.
  • Only the most effective exercises can remain in the programme.

These guiding principles coupled with intuition and untiring hard graft have resulted in a unique set of exercises all challenging and harmonising different fundamental neural circuits.

Achieving Miraculous Improvements

The Performance Breakthrough Programme is very safe and yet incredibly potent. It achieves “miraculous” improvements in expected and also in unexpected areas of life. The exercises are tailored so that they:

  • Help increase sensory integration, so that the signals coming from our senses are properly assessed and taken into account.
  • Increase the resolution
  • Help in calibrating the rules

It may appear magical, but it is not magic. Collaborate with your brain, help your brain, and it will help you back. With increased resolution, we become aware of more subtle details. With increased calculation powers, the brain can project more precise scenarios from which we can confidently choose from. The world makes more sense, it is easier to distinguish between beneficial and harmful acts, and we have better skills to perform our actions.

Training Neurons

Hidden corners of the brain are reached, new neurons trained, and old ones readjusted. Training neurons is not an overnight affair. They don’t just jump to the perfect settings; rather, neurons nudge their way towards it. Bit by bit, cautiously watching the feedback.

You can almost think of an individual neuron as a tiny little creature eager to please. In every individual’s neural set, we are talking about the fine-tuning of thousands or millions of closely orchestrated neurons. Neurons don’t see the big picture and have to rely entirely on the feedback that gets back to them. “Did I do good? Did we achieve what we wanted?” Based on the answers, they can make small adjustments to their settings so maybe next time the feedback will be a reassuring “Yes, well done!”

It is a sign and good measure of reaching a high percentage of our potential if the neurons get the ‘well done’ message frequently. To make it last and universal, we need to reach the hidden corners of our brain and get all of our fundamental circuits and conductors to an adequate level and ‘hard wire’ them so that they become permanent through the science of neuroplasticity.
